This policy explains what we collect when you use curiousercoffee.com, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than legal boilerplate.
Curiouser Coffee operates two locations in Minnesota, in Apple Valley and Eagan, and is part of the Wondrous Collective family of venues.
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: which pages people visit, how they arrived, roughly where in the world they are, and what kind of device they used. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to do this. We use it to make the site better, not to identify you personally, and we do not sell this information.
You can opt out across all sites using Google’s browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings. The site works fine without them.
If you reserve a spot at one of our events, we receive what you put in the form, which means your name, your email address, the size of your party, and a phone number or a note if you choose to add one. We use it to hold your reservation, to email you a confirmation and a reminder, and to know how many people to expect. We do not add you to a mailing list from an RSVP.
Alongside the reservation we store a one-way scrambled version of your IP address and browser, used only to stop the form being abused, and a note of how you reached the page, for example whether you came from a link we posted on Instagram. That last part tells us which of our posts are working; it is not tied to anything beyond the reservation itself.
Our scavenger hunt asks for more than the rest of the site, so it deserves its own paragraph. When you claim a find, we record:
Your location is used to check that one claim and is not used to track you around, build a profile, or advertise to you. Taking part is entirely optional, and your browser will ask permission before sharing your location.
Our host keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting. Our security plugin uses the same information to block malicious traffic.
Parts of the site hand off to companies who have their own privacy policies. Once you are on their page, their policy governs, not ours:
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone else except where we need to in order to run the business or where the law requires it.
Analytics data expires on Google’s schedule. Form submissions and scavenger hunt records are kept while they are useful and then deleted. If you want yours removed sooner, just ask.
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live you may have a formal right to do so; either way we will honour the request. Email us and we will take care of it.
You can also refuse or clear cookies in your browser at any time.
The site is meant for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
Questions about anything above, or a request about your information, can go to revolvehall@gmail.com.
